ROCK TAKES AWAY A WIN OVER JOHN CARROLL

After playing a scoreless first period, the John Carroll Blue Streaks would strike first scoring their first goal 8:07 into the second period. Slippery Rock answered right back just :41 seconds later as Junior, Shaun Becker skated coast to coast to bury one by the Streaks goaltender. Freshman Wes Waldschmidt added another goal just :04 seconds later as he blistered one by the netminder from the high slot. Sophmore, Chris Kemper would register a power play goal 2:19 later to put the Pride up by two but John Carroll answered right back with a power play tally to end the second period with the Pride up by one.Senior, Tim Snyder opened up the third period scoring with an unassisted goal. Freshman, Matt Lancaster worked a nice feed from Chris Kemper to record another Rock solid power play tally. Sophmore, Shane Smith ripped a quick shot beating the John Carroll netminder over his shoulder. Tim Snyder recorded his second of the night to put the rock up by five and seal the win for Freshman Goaltender, Shawn Ketterer, getting his first start in net and picking up his first win between the pipes for the Pride. The Pride head to Rochester NY next weekend, October 12,13,14 for the ACHA Div1 showcase which will be held at the ESL Sports center. The Pride will take on Westchester University, University of Michigan-Dearborn and the University of Scranton.
The Pride are back on the ice for another home game on Friday. October 19th to battle the division rival Youngstown State Univesrity "Penguins" at the Cranberry Bladerunners. THE ACTION STARTS at 8:00 pm!
